8-20 hours/week – remote/hybrid Posted September 5th, 2023
Who we are:
We are passionate about and committed to our mission: helping English speakers plan their finances, feel comfortable with their money, and succeed financially – in Israel. We help people find the sweet spot where their values, lifestyle and income all match up. If this rings your bell (and only if it really speaks to you) please keep reading.
Who we hope you are:
First and foremost, you must be excited about our mission. Yes, all the requirements listed below will position you to be successful in this role, but the critical piece here is rallying around whether you perk up when talking about financial success in Israel. We are looking for the person who wants THIS job, rather than A job.
You have a financial background and are a “numbers person”. Perhaps you’ve taken a budgeting or financial planning course or two, are rejoining the workforce after a break, or recently pivoted to personal finance from another career because you have a burgeoning interest and are looking to expand your financial knowledge.
You are comfortable with Excel, formulas, and reading financial reports. You proactively keep up to date with financial developments in Israel including interest rates, trends and financial changes – because you’re interested. You are organized, independent, and are comfortable not only taking initiative with the numbers, but also working directly with clients.
You are either bilingual in English/Hebrew or speak English at mother tongue level and manage well enough in Hebrew to write Hebrew language emails to Israelis and manage well with Hebrew software, spreadsheets and vendors.
The job is:
Independently facilitate one-on one-meetings with a wide range of clients to help them create a workable budget for financial success
Meet with clients on an ongoing basis so they can live within that budget (you will be trained in the Financially Smarter method)
Read financial documents and detailed reports from insurance, pension and investment portfolios, pulling information and creating customized status reports for clients
Gather financial information including new government policies and programs as well as developing mortgage rates, compiling information for clients as appropriate, and creating monthly reports
Document meetings and progress within our CRM, Monday.com
Update and organize spreadsheets with formulas, charts and graphs
Working within financial planning software Plan-T (we will train you on the software)
Location and hours:
We are growing, so this is a brand new position. Therefore, it can grow with us and stretch into several potential directions depending upon the person we hire, and where that person is looking to grow.
Initially: 8-10 hours/week, in-house on a tlush (not freelance)
Longer term, could be up to 20 hours/week.
You will be able to work from anywhere, and you can set your own hours, although they must be hours that clients in Israel can meet (mornings and occasional evenings) either on Zoom or in person in our office in Bet Shemesh. In addition, our team meets occasionally (also in Bet Shemesh) in person, so you must be able to get there from time to time.
You will manage both your time and your tasks independently, and manage your time effectively. That said, we will never ask you to work on a weekend or deal with last minute assignments. We will be respectful of your work and your lifestyle!
Our Culture
We are people first and workers second. Certainly, there are deadlines and we expect that you are someone with a sense of urgency and respect for due dates, like we are. But we are people, and our clients are people, so that’s the critical part of our culture: people first – both employees and clients. We not only offer knowledgeable, accessible and transparent service; we genuinely care about each other and about our clients, so we speak to each other and to everyone we serve in a warm, welcoming manner.
A family-friendly company, we look forward to building trust and mutual respect both with you and the clients we’ll serve together. Let’s make immigrants financially smarter in Israel!
